Working Mommies

How many mommies love going to work and leaving their newborn behind? Nobody!

It is a very stressful time for a working mom. In my experience, I have always worked. I probably took off about 1 year when my first daughter was born, since I had a lot of learning to do! Other than that, I have worked and gone to school. People have many opinions about what is right and wrong when it comes to staying home or working. I choose to work because I worked hard for my career, I need to be in a workplace setting and receive a paycheck. I need to be following my own dreams from 9-5. A lot of women choose to stay home after having kids and if it fits your family than that is awesome!

I looked at the benefits of being a stay-at home mommy & of a working mommy.

Stay at home mommy

  • Don't miss any of your child's milestones
  • You don't have to worry about childcare
  • Are able to give your child the best education and teach them family values at an early age
  • Nap time :)
  • Be on top of household chores and meals

Working mommy
  • Paycheck!
  • your child becomes more independent in a daycare setting
  • You don't have to depend on your husband's income
  • you have a career & don't have to wait till your little ones are in highschool
  • child bonds with other children

Of course, every family is different and what works for one doesn't for the other. It is important when considering being a stay at home mommy, that you talk with your husband and weigh all the pros and cons. It is also perfectly fine if you do decide to go back to work and realize this is not for you and would rather stay home.

No matter what we choose, I know that us mommies makes our choices in our child's best interest. We want to give them a better life and it can be done if you choose to stay home or work.

  • I use it everyday!
  • I will buy it again

Mommies and Fashion

Why do some women change their wardrobe once they have children? After I had my first child, I no longer wore summer dresses & lip gloss. Everyday consisted of sweats or yoga pants & my hair in a bun. This continued until after I had my 3rd! Yes! It did take that long to start realizing I was not happy with myself. I decided to lose my combined baby weight (from my 3 little ones), start eating healthy & working out. I feel so much confident! I'm putting together outfits, like I did in college & I'm falling in love with trends. Above all, I have 3 little girls who look up to me. I want to be a good role model, not only by teaching them values, but also by letting them know that just because we are grown up and are "mommies" we do not have to look sloppy.

So here are some essential pieces every women should have!

Boyfriend jeans! They are very comfortable and perfect for a play date or a quick run to grocery store.
Goldsign® for J.Crew Jenny jean in rosewood wash
Maxi dress. I love this because it can easily be transformed from night to day outfit. During the day you can wear this with a jean jacket and some cute sandals with a statement necklace or a scarf. For night time fun, it can be paired with heels, clutch and belt.

Flats. These are necessary when your chasing after a 2 year old, but still want to look cute. I also keep these in my car just in case I need to change from my heels at anytime during the day.

JCrew Tee. This is also great to pair with jeans or for the workplace.

Red heels! Every women should own a pair of these! It gives your normal office or weekend outfit a classy touch.

LIPGLOSS! Regardless if you like to wear makeup or not, just a little bit of lip gloss can go a long way! Just keep this in your purse, jean pocket, diaper bag, car or office..no excuses!!
